Aviation Open Cockpit Day

Close encounters of aviation excitement is ramping up in Middle River for the first of two 2024 Open Cockpit Days at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum at Martin State Airport.
The Museum welcomes aboard visitors on its shuttle busses to transport them to the outdoor airplanes where imaginations take flight. Visitors board a 1952 Martin Company 404 passenger plane where memories of past flights may be recalled by older visitors. See into cockpits of a B-57 aircraft built by the Martin Company, a Huey helicopter, and 1950’s fighter planes and other aircraft. Children will discover aviation STEM when they see up close the various sizes and designs of wings and propellers that keep an airplane flying. The last shuttle bus to the airplanes departs at 1:30pm. Museum exhibit galleries in Hangar 5 remain open until 3pm. Admission to this special event is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Rain date is Saturday, May 4. Attend this exciting experience to create and capture new memories when discovering Maryland’s aviation history.
