American Mosaic: 250 Visions Celebrating America’s 250th Closing Reception
This July 31st, the Baltimore County Arts Guild (BCAG) invites artists and visitors alike to be join us at our closing reception for American Mosaic, a special community exhibition celebrating America’s 250th birthday through art.
Artwork will be for sale, and all proceeds will support the BCAG’s various low-cost and free programs.
YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE IN CREATING A 5″ x 5″ Artwork through July 19th
What does America at 250 mean to you?
Pick up a free 5″ x 5″ canvas and show us in paint, marker, ink, paper, photos, or words. Any medium, any vision. Together, 100 canvases = 250 square inches, a mosaic as diverse as America itself. And if we reach that goal? Our collaborative mosaic masterpiece might just outshine the fireworks.
Pick up a canvas. Make your mark. Be part of history.
Community members are welcome to contribute by creating a piece for the exhibition and are encouraged to attend the show at the Catonsville Clubhouse to experience 250 artistic visions in one inspiring display. Canvases are provided by the Baltimore County Art Guild. Canvas Pick-Up: BCAG Catonsville Clubhouse and BCAG Gallery@1101, SEE FULL DETAILS BELOW
Make a day of it by attending Catonsville’s fabulous Fourth of July festivities and parade. Guests visiting the exhibition will be permitted to park in the Clubhouse parking lot for the parade, making it easy to enjoy both the exhibition and one of Catonsville’s most beloved annual celebrations.
Join us in commemorating this historic milestone through art, community, and civic pride. Whether you’re creating, viewing, collecting, or celebrating, American Mosaic offers a unique opportunity to be part of America’s 250th birthday while supporting the arts in Baltimore County.
All mediums are welcome: Paint, Ink, Crayons, Markers, Paper, Visual images, or Written word (If using water-soluble mediums, apply Mod Podge, glue, or a fixative spray)
Participants are encouraged to donate their work to be sold for a fundraiser for the Baltimore County Arts Guild. Those not interested in donating their work will be able to pick it up at the end of the closing reception on Friday, July 30th or at the times designated below.
