MCHC invites Patron‑level members and above to a memorable autumn afternoon at the William Paca House & Garden in Annapolis. This third installment of the Collectors Luncheon Series offers guests an opportunity to explore one of Maryland’s most iconic 18th‑century estates while enjoying seasonal fare and conversation with fellow MCHC members. Guests will hear welcoming remarks from MCHC leadership and representatives from Historic Annapolis. Following a buffet luncheon, attendees will enjoy private guided tours of the historic home in small rotating groups, led by expert educators from Historic Annapolis.
Built in the early 1760s by William Paca, one of four Maryland signers of the Declaration of Independence and Maryland’s third governor, the Paca House is a five-part Georgian mansion now recognized as a National Historic Landmark. Once at risk of demolition, the house was saved and meticulously restored in the 1960s through the efforts of Historic Annapolis and the State of Maryland. While the estate reflects the lifestyle and political stature of the Paca family, it also tells the story of the enslaved individuals who lived and labored on the property. Explore period rooms, artworks, and recreated garden features that offer insight into both the grandeur of colonial life and the realities of those who made it possible.
This special event is part of MCHC’s Collectors Luncheon Series and is open to Patron-level members and above.
