Join Owen Lourie, author of the newly published Finding the Maryland 400, as he explores the remarkable story behind Maryland’s legendary soldiers. Discover how the bravery of the Maryland Line at the Battle of Brooklyn, the first major battle fought after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, helped save General George Washington’s army and earned Maryland its enduring nickname, the “Old Line State.” Through firsthand accounts and the stories of individual soldiers and their families, learn how their courage became a lasting source of Maryland pride. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
Doors open at 5:30 pm, lecture begins at 6:00 pm.
