Come visit the Computer Museum in Hunt Valley, and enjoy the bonus of the Mid-Atlantic Historical Telephony Conference and Expo — PhoneCon. Although normally only open on weekdays, the museum is opening wide the weekend of July 25-26 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first telephone patent, awarded to A. G. Bell. PhoneCon is supported by volunteers from the two telephone historical groups: Telephone Collectors International and Antique Telephone Collectors Association
PhoneCon will have displays, workshops, and talks on the history and technology of telecommunications, and on how hobbyists become involved. Come to reminisce about the phones you grew up with, or to earn about how we have changed communications and how telecom has changed us. Museum admission for the two days is $15 or less. A donation is requested for the conference. You can find details and schedule on the website, https://PhoneCon.org Come for all or just part.
The museum welcomes the public, age 13 and above. Advance registration is recommended. The museum is located just off I-83, with ample free parking, and a short walk from the Gilroy Rd. light rail stop.
