The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) will host its Annual Benefit Fashion Show on April 17–18, 2026. Taking place during MICA’s bicentennial year, this year’s theme, “RECLAIM,” celebrates the institution’s rich artistic legacy while looking boldly toward the future.
Through research, craftsmanship, material exploration and performance, 10 student-designed collections will examine what it means to honor one’s roots as an artist while shaping what comes next.
The April 18 show will be preceded by a Community Marketplace featuring local, alumni and student vendors. Both evenings will also include an exhibition outside the Falvey Auditorium showcasing artwork by students from the Baltimore Design School.
All proceeds from the Annual Benefit Fashion Show benefit the Dr. Frankie Martin Fund. Dr. Frankie Martin founded the show in partnership with the Black Student Union to celebrate and elevate the beauty of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. Since then, she has retired from the institution and was awarded MICA’s highest distinction, the Medal of Honor.
