Ruut in Concert and Conversation

Fresh off being named the Finlandia Foundation’s 2026 Performer of the Year, Finnish-born, Baltimore-based artist Ruut brings her piano-driven songwriting to an intimate local stage. Her live performances are direct and immersive, built around voice, piano, and a clear emotional throughline that draws listeners in.

This appearance follows the release of Steinway Sessions (Special Edition), a collection of solo piano-vocal recordings now reaching a growing international audience under her recently signed deal with Meridian/ECR (New York).

Shaped by gospel and an independent artistic path, Ruut’s music has earned recognition abroad. Parkett Italy notes that her songs unfold “as if they had been waiting for the right moment to reveal their full dimension,” while Germany’s New Indie Radar highlights her “substantive songwriting” and ability to create “a deeply intimate atmosphere.”
