The Baltimore Men’s Chorus has been making music, building community, and connecting people LGBTQ+ and allies for over 40 years, and you’re invited to join us. Whether you’ve sung in choirs before or are trying it for the first time, we welcome all Tenor, Baritone, and Bass singers, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. It’s a space where your voice and presence truly matter.
Our next season starts Monday, August 25 at 7 PM with a free new member mixer: an open rehearsal, introduction, including refreshments at 1900 St Paul St.
This event is an open rehearsal and social gathering: come sing, meet others, and see if this is the right fit for you. Details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/741605342131137

Want to join? Just come to the event and check us out. We rehearse every Monday at 7 PM and perform concerts in December. No auditions needed! Just show up and sing. We are a nonaudition choir, anyone ready to sing is welcome. For singers seeking more technical challenges, we also offer an auditioned ensemble called Encore.
Our rehearsals take place at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, a welcoming and supportive space for LGBTQ+ people and allies.
About the Baltimore Men’s Chorus
Since its founding in 1984, the Baltimore Men’s Chorus has performed across the country and remained a meaningful part of Baltimore’s musical life. Over the years, the group has built a welcoming space for singers and audiences alike, dedicated to artistic excellence and positive community impact through music, building community, and creating a safe, welcoming space for singers of all backgrounds. We celebrate diversity and inclusion,
Our musical director, Malcolm Washington, has served as the Director of Choral Activities at Hammond High School in the Howard County Public School System for six years. Before Hammond, he taught general and choral music at Elkridge Elementary School. Malcolm’s love of vocal music began in the Black church, where he learned to sing Gospel music. He later developed an affinity for classical singing through school music programs in central New Jersey.
Mr. Washington earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from the University of Delaware, where he studied with Dr. Paul Head and Dr. Duane Cottrell. While at UD, Malcolm was a member of the UD Men’s Chorus, the YChromes Men’s A Cappella group, and the world-renowned UD Chorale.
