Join us as we celebrate World Snake Day at Irvine with scheduled snake programming and FREE self-led activities within our Exhibit Hall (that are all included in the price of admission ($5/person ages 6+) and free for members).
With three nature programs to choose from, it is sure to be a great day for the whole family. Sign up for 1,2 or all 3 events ($30 for a day pass).
World Snake Day- Herp Hike (8-10AM)- $5: Celebrate World Snake Day by herping on Irvine’s beautifully vast 211 acres! Herping is the art of hiking for hidden reptiles. Irvine is home to seven different species of incredible snakes. Join our expert guides for an early morning hike through the woodlands to the wetlands and back in search of all seven. This adventure is suitable for all ages and guarantees an unforgettable wildlife encounter.
World Snake Day Presentation- Snakes Around the World (12-2PM)- $5: Witness the behaviors and interactions of snakes up close! Snake expert, Brittany Roger, will give an interactive presentation covering the incredible diversity and super powers of snakes. Some climb and dig while others are masters of camouflage. This engaging presentation is perfect for curious minds of all ages and offers a deeper understanding of these remarkable reptiles.
Animal Art- Snakes! (3-5PM)-$25: Unleash your creativity and inner artist in a unique session where you’ll draw and paint on custom throw pillowcases, inspired by Irvine’s resident snakes. This creative workshop is led by Irvine’s very own environmental educator and MICA trained artist, Brittany Roger. This program is ideal for ages 13 and up. All experience levels are welcome!
