Music
Face the music this summer by experiencing the heart of Music City, Maryland. The Vortex at CAA Park in Catonsville is set to host three notable music festivals throughout the season. “The Shakedown”, “Music City Summer Fest”, and “The Music City Maryland Festival.” The shows will feature lineups of funk-rock groups, acoustic sets, and cover bands paying tribute to The Grateful Dead, The Cure, REM, and other popular 80’s medleys. Explore local shops and eateries around town before walking over to CAA Park where you have 12 acres of land to spread out to enjoy local food trucks, cold beverages, and art vendors.
Or kick off your summer with Music in the Woods at Oregon Ridge Nature Center in Cockeysville. A wide array of diverse local musicians and bands fill the setlist. The family-friendly event includes craft vendors, food trucks, animal encounters, and jam sessions!
Beer and Wine
The headlining act of these events is, you guessed it, beer and wine from local breweries and wineries. Stay for the supporting acts of local food trucks and live music at the Reisterstown Beer and Wine Festival.
Spread out along the infield at the Timonium Fairgrounds and uncork the “all-you-can-taste” vino from around the globe at the Wine and Food Festival.
Claim your advance purchase tickets for the Makers Valley Summer Festival at Boordy Vineyards where over 35 vendors and six food trucks will be on hand as you walk around sipping the finest wine in Maryland.
Pride
Baltimore Pride Week will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary from June 8th through the 15th. Its evolution has turned this event into the ultimate way to honor love, diversity, and progress.
Support the pride community with live music, food vendors, sweet treats, and more at the Catonsville Pride Fest, which aims to help raise money for trans and gender nonconforming youths at The Children’s Home.
Farms & Fairs
Star Bright Farm in White Hall is home to the fragrant fields of flowing lavender. Their annual Lavender Festival welcomes people of all ages to their purple paradise for a Saturday and Sunday filled with food, music, and fun!
Weber’s Cider Mill Farm in Parkville celebrates their harvest of the freshest, juiciest summer fruits at their annual Peach and Blackberry Festival. Food trucks, live music, and barnyard animals round out a full day at the farm.
Put an exclamation point on the unofficial end of summer at the Maryland State Fair. The annual tradition of rides, funnel cake, carnival games, and petting zoos paves way for the fall season around the corner. Country music’s biggest upcoming star, Maddox Batson, will perform live on the final night to close out another year at the State Fair.
Heritage
Show your patriotism on 4th of July Weekend at the 50th Annual Dundalk Heritage Fair, brought to you courtesy of the red, white, and blue. Keep the community spirit alive at the three-day fair with a parade, fireworks show, and live music!
Willkommen in Deutschland. The Timonium Fairgrounds will host the 125th Annual Maryland German Festival this summer. Tap into Oktoberfest in July with authentic German cuisine, music, dancing, and crafts. Dress in your finest German folk wear, grab a beverage in a beer stein, and celebrate the central European roots.
